It was an awesome day at the post office today. I found this unexpected package waiting for me. I LOVE getting surprises in the mail! So sweet and thoughtful! It made my day. To the lovely lady out east, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I’ve taken up knitting again. I saw this chunky yarn at the store on a cold day and I knew it was meant to be a scarf. The greatest thing ever about chunky wool is how fast it knits up. I managed to double the length while watching a movie on Netflix. The pattern is just one I thought up on my own which it just four rows of knitting and then ten rows of knitting and purling, while keeping the four stitches on each end knit with no purling. I was hoping the four rows of straight knitting would keep it from curling, but it still curls. I will iron it out once I am finished. We are expecting some snow Saturday and Sunday (yayyy! That is not sarcasm folks, I want me some snow!). I want to finish the scarf before Sunday as I am going for a walk along one of my favourite paths in Kitchener(and maybe some geocaching!). I lost my favourite scarf last year and in need of one. A scarf is a Winter necessity, along with long johns, a hood and warm mittens.
I am drinking my second martini of the night (raspberry vodka, casis and soda water with a couple black berries floating in it). It’s okay, but it needs work. I want it sweeter. Maybe grenadine? Apparently I like my martinis sweet as candy and loaded with sugar. I have until this weekend to get the martini phase out of my system; starting Monday I am revisiting Weight Watchers. It really does work for me, but I usually end up screwing it up because I get sick of counting points and being prone to binging, I’ll screw it up and then never get myself back on the wagon. I have managed to gain around 5-7lbs and my clothes aren’t fitting properly anymore. Enough is enough. Maybe I will finally stick with it this time? Maybe that flattering (err WAS flattering) red Ralph Lauren will be looking fab again by the holidays! Wish me luck!
I love of getting surprises in the mail. I love writing old fashioned letters with fun stationery, reading letters from people and have a deep loathe of junk mail. You can remove that insult to your mail box by inserting a “No junk mail please” (say please, someone had to haul that huge craptastic junk pile all the way to your box) sticker inside of your mail box where your carrier can see it. I am so crazy excited and impatient to get a package when I order one, I can barely stand it. Something even more fun…. when you don’t know what’s coming!
I just received my first Vegan Cuts beauty box today. The box costs $19.99 and Canadians add on an extra $8 for shipping. You get 4-7 mystery vegan samples in each delivery. This is a monthly box and will ship out once a month automatically unless you cancel. Everything you get is vegan and cruelty free and a surprise each time! Some people would hate that surprise factor, but I think it’s all part of the fun. It only took 6 days to get here, and that’s not bad for an international package (I’ve had things tie up in customs for over a month before) and there were no duty fees. Here is the link for the Vegan Cuts website: http://vegancuts.com/ and I will post a video of all that I got in the June 2015 box down below.
They also have a snack box and OMFG I want the snack box, but that is the last thing in the world I need right now. I sort of went to town on snacks lately and it’s starting to show. My pants have gotten a little tighter! I say it every week, but it’s time to get the diet back in order.
Be well and write someone you love (or at least tolerate) an old fashioned, hand written letter.
Did you want to get free stuff? Who doesn’t!? This chick certainly does. I can tell you one way, with sample source (https://www.samplesource.com/). Go to their website and sign up your email. About two or three times a year they have product samples available. You will get an email alert that samples are available, go to their website, select the samples you want and they mail them to you. A little later they ask you to fill out a survey on if you liked the samples or not. It’s free and who doesn’t love to get packages in the mail!
